War Chief

The history of World War 2 is a widely popular subject, but lesser known is the story of Joseph Medicine Crow, the last of the Crow Nation to achieve the title of War Chief. Written and illustrated by myself, this 6-page biographical Graphic novel Joseph's journey as he completes one of four tasks to gain the title of War Chief while in Germany during World War 2.

Research and scriptwriting came first in the development of this story. To effectively portray this story and condense it into 6-pages, I needed to find the perfect flow from one point to the next and how the composition of the panels would enforce it.

Finalizing the structure resulted in a few alterations to my composition that made it flow more naturally, appear more pleasing and better depict the action you see in the 5th and 6th pages.
